· It is an instant messaging service that allows you to speak to people all over the world.
· It’ not like msn where you know all of your contacts, you can speak to anyone from anywhere.

· Free
· Allows you to talk to anyone in the world
· It’s quicker than a letter

Disadvantages
· There can be paedophiles
· Cyber bullying
· You don’t know who you’re talking to


What is BBS?
· It’s a Bulletin Board System
· It allows you to download files
· You can read news
· And leave messages for people to read

Advantages
· You can talk to people
· It’s not instant so you can leave messages for people to read later
· You can obtain information from the bulletins

Disadvantages
· The system is becoming outdated so not many people know what it is or how to use it
· Quite a slow processAnyone can use it so you don’t always know who you’re talking to
